You might say that Julian is one of those people who just can’t stop. Running that is! Julian’s hobby is running marathons: anywhere and everywhere. And whenever and wherever he runs, he raises money for Supershoes, which is just fantastic. Julian’s latest exploits involved him walking 95 miles and running 40 miles while he was on holiday in America! A nice relaxing break then! He took part in a Halloween fancy-dress race, but his most memorable race to date was a US Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC, where a Howitzer canon started the race. Julian was certainly in holiday mode, as he found time for a few beers during the marathon, and still finished in a most respectable 4:56:28!
It’s an easy win really, turning a hobby into a charity fundraising event. You do something you enjoy doing anyway, and simply use it to raise much-needed funds for your favourite charity. Julian is running in memory of his Mum, and has completed dozens of marathons, half marathons and other foot-pounding challenges. He’s a bit of a machine, if we’re honest; Mr Rocket Socks and a true inspiration to others. Here’s a link to his page.
Has Julian’s experience inspired you? Whether it’s a few hundred yards, a kilometre or two, or a full-on big run, there’s a distance to suit everyone. Have a think. What could you do to get mobile, have fun and raise some much-needed funds for Supershoes? We’d recommend you set up a Just Giving fundraising page here. You can then share the link to friends and family and they can sponsor you with just a click. Couldn’t be easier! And thank you so much in advance from our Super Brave warriors all over the UK!
