Super Jake’s Journey
Jake was poorly for a couple of weeks before his diagnosis, with sickness, loss of vision, lethargy and inability to walk. These alarming symptoms caused mum Danielle to rush him to hospital, from where he was blue-lighted to Great Ormond Street Hospital, where he had an 8-hour operation to save his optical nerves, which is where the tumour was situated. Eight cycles of chemotherapy were to follow, right in the middle of the pandemic, with all the extra challenges that brought. Jake has now completed his treatment, although the damage to his optical nerves mean that his sight has been severely comprimised. In spite of this, Jake loves playing Roblox as well as being outdoors and is enjoying being at school, with his friends and also loves his awesome Supershoes, which have attracted admiring comments from everyone who sees them. Go Jake! Lots of love to you from all of us at Supershoes!
